Tomyamkoong, Isannuea Lead Loaded ONE Friday Fights 149 Card On April 3
ONE Championship kicks off the month with another soul-piercing event, ONE Friday Fights 149, at Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium this Friday, April 3, and the stakes have never been higher for the athletes on this card. Nine bouts across Muay Thai, kickboxing, and MMA – and for most of the men and women stepping into that ring, a life-changing US$100,000 contract and a spot on ONE's global roster are on the line. Do not miss a second of it.
A Star On The Rise Headlines The Show
Tomyamkoong Bhumjaithai left his hometown of Surin at 15 years old with a dream — and six years later, the PK Saenchai Muaythai gym product is closing in on everything he came to Bangkok for.
The 21-year-old, who is named after the iconic Thai dish for his well-rounded game, arrives at ONE Friday Fights 149 on a two-bout winning streak and with a six-figure contract firmly in his sights.
Standing in his way is Moldovan debutant Bejenuta Maximus, an explosive kickboxer who uses sharp footwork and creative combinations to keep opponents guessing. Maximus arrives hungry to make a statement on the biggest stage of his career, and a win over one of the division's most promising young stars would do exactly that.
Two In-Form Fighters Collide In The Co-Main
The co-main event brings the heat just as hard.
Isannuea Sor Sasiwat has been a force since arriving at ONE Friday Fights, overwhelming opponents with a relentless clinch game that has been years in the making. The 22-year-old Ranong native has been dreaming of competing at this level since he was 8 years old, and a recent knockout of Sanit Aekmuangnon at ONE Friday Fights 140 this past January showed he belongs.
His opponent, Khunpon Aekmuangnon, is not here to hand him anything. The 20-year-old Phuket native arrives with a remarkable five-bout winning streak, built on one of the sharpest southpaw body kicks in the division. Both men are knocking on the contract door, and only one may be able to knock it down on Friday.
