ONE Friday Fights 149 Results: Tomyamkoong Starches Maximus, Isannuea Celebrates 50th Win With Brutal KO
Here's how the action went down at ONE Friday Fights 149!
ONE Friday Fights 149 lived up to every bit of its billing at Bangkok's iconic Lumpinee Stadium on Thursday, April 3. Tomyamkoong Bhumjaithai delivered his most complete performance yet, stopping Moldovan debutant Bejenuta Maximus in the third round to make it three victories in a row. Plus, in the co-main event, Isannuea Sor Sasiwat needed less than three minutes to put Khunpon Aekmuangnon away with one of the most devastating body shots of the year – and leave the historic venue with career win number 50.
Tomyamkoong Puts On A Clinic
Tomyamkoong Bhumjaithai entered his first ONE Friday Fights main event with a plan – and he executed it to perfection. Patient, precise, and relentless, the PK Saenchai Muaythaigym product carved up Bejenuta "Gladiator" Maximus with sharp left kicks to the arm and body from the opening bell, establishing his rhythm before the Moldovan had a chance to find his feet.
Maximus was not without answers. The debutant stayed light on his feet, bouncing in and out of range and landing unorthodox punches in flashes to keep Tomyamkoong honest. But the 21-year-old Thai was never rattled. He tracked his opponent methodically, and in the second round, he found his moment – a straight right to the body that buckled Maximus at the knees.
By the third, the gap had become an ocean. Tomyamkoong cut off the ring and landed a fierce left hand that sent the Moldovan to the canvas. And when Maximus beat the count, the Thai swarmed him in the clinch with knees and elbows until the referee stepped in at the 1:41 mark.
Tomyamkoong captured his 127th professional victory and continued to inch closer to the life-changing US$100,000 contract and global roster spot.
Isannuea Announces Himself In Style
Isannuea Sor Sasiwat did not come to Lumpinee Stadium for a long night. The 22-year-old hunted Khunpon Aekmuangnon from the first bell – pressuring, punching, and forcing the 20-year-old to lean on his left kick as a counter just to create space.
That habit led to Khunpon’s downfall. Isannuea waited, let the kick come one more time, and then unloaded a left body hook that landed flush on the ribcage and folded his opponent to the canvas in a heap. There was no recovering from it. The referee waved it off at 2:23 of round one.
The finish was Isannuea's 50th career victory, and his second straight knockout. For a fighter who has been dreaming of this stage since childhood, win number 50 in front of his home crowd is the kind of moment that defines a career chapter.
